Pull the truck in leave it running, run out close door, wait half an hour, run in shut off truck, run out close door, wait half an hour, open door wait outside half an hour, run in back out truck, run in sweep out dead bugs and spiders.

Works,

Those "bug bomb" fogger units should work.

Don't try the carbon monoxide treatment in an attached garage. Turn any gas pilots off also. That treatment could be a little hard on the truck also.

Bug bombs here. Cheap, and they work like a charm.

Thumbs up bugs in the garage

Every 3-6 months I spray indoors with Ortho indoor/outdoor bug spray. It comes in a big green gallon jug. Then I spray the base of the entire outside of the house with Diazinon in a 2 gallon pump sprayer. I make sure to keep a constant trail all around the base and along the floor where the garage door meets the concrete. It has worked great for the past 4 years. As for keeping moths and other flying insects out at night...it seems impossible. They are just too attracted to the lights. I've thought about buying a bug zapper or hanging some fly strips in the corner. But, I usually just keep the doors closed when I'm working in the garage at night.

Lightbulb bugs in the garage

Most restaurants have the UV fly/ bug traps - like a zapper, but no popping. They lure the bugs in and they get stuck.
Neat, easy to clean out, and you only have to run them when you aren't there. I had mine (before I moved) wired to a 'nite lite' switch. When I turned off the lights to leave the shop, the bugs all ran for the trap. When I came back the next day - No bugs.

bugs in the garage

My garage is crawling with bugs. (pun intended)

Misqueto coils and bug spray for me, cats eat up the palmetto bugs and fruit rats, spiders and lizards seem to do the rest.
Although, this year I've been seeing these really big wolf spiders. They're so big you can hear them thump on the carpeting when they jump..

For summer, I got a bunch of mosquito netting, then attached velcro to the edges of the netting and put some fishing weights on the bottom. Then put the other side of the velcro along the outside edges of the garage door. Then, when I'm going to be in the garage working all day, or want to leave it open, I just stick the netting up using the velcro. Since you stick it to the outside of the garage door frame, you can shut the door at night, without removing the netting.
Works great to keep flies and mosquitos out. Any strays are caught with a fly tape. Just step on the spiders...

Sounds a bit primitive, but I kinda like it

bugs in the garage

Here's a new one that I've just found. I've been in my house for 5 years, and a week ago I started finding frogs in my garage. I haven't seen a frog in souteastern PA in about 20 years, then all of a sudden there's 3 of them scurrying under the shelves by the door. They don't bother me, I just thought that I'd share.

Pets!

Put a little saucer of water out for them. They do eat bugs.

bugs in the garage

We had a really bad earwig problem and one tool did the job - havn't had a problem in the last 10 years since - TEMPO. Its REALLY strong stuff. Just spray it around the baseboards and anything that comes near it is history. Had a bad fly problem on the windows and I would just vacum them up with the shop vac. usually got most of them.

I like the shop vac idea. I used to keep a sprayer full of water for flies. The water would make them not-so-good-fliers. Be careful with the carbon monoxide, and make sure that the dog is OUTSIDE when you do it.

bugs in the garage

My biggest problem in the garage is the West Nile flying around (Misquito's) With all the wet weather we have had lately, they are comming into the garage while I am working and chewing me alive. There's nothing worse than having my hands down in the engine compartment and watching one of those little buggers land and start drilling for oil in my arm before I can do anything about it.

Any thoughts? My bug zapper is pretty much useless since they are attracted to CO2 and not light.
