The f150 had been sitting in a yard for a few years and I have been going through it. I was chasing a cooling issue that led to most pieces being replaced. I found the water pump missing half the impellers and the rest were wrapped around so that it was still balanced! Maybe it was started with ice in the pump? Never have seen that before.
I thought of taking the doors fenders and other pieces from the 150 and putting them on the 350. The 150 will be the dd while the diesel is in the shop.
Yeah I think so. I have to look at the paint codes to be sure. Oddly both trucks have a crease at the bottom of the doors even though the 150 is a 95. I believe the paint code for the 150 is wb and the 350 is nb... I'll have to look to be sure.
I have finished fixing all the springs in the front bench. What a difference! It is good.
I am going to pull the drive lines and send them in for a rebuild and balance. Has any one used this traction bar? At 1040$ it seems steep but it looks like a good solution.
Timken bearings is all I use. No real tips though. As far as the traction bars, a grand is a lot for something that can be made fairly easy. JMO of course.
It seems that I am collecting these trucks now! A friend has been bitten by the new truck bug and is selling his truck. He was going to trade it in but I offered to trade him for the f150 and some cash. I hope he takes it!
I look forward to getting all the parts I have ordered over the last couple of months! I have a lot of work to do when the box is off. The cracked frame is getting welded and fish plated as well as replacing shackle and shock mounts. I don't have much room here so the parts have been collecting at a friends place and we will plan to take it all apart and install everything we can in a few days.
I bought some oem dodge mirrors to install with power and heat has anyone installed these? Did you use the factory switch? I have an xl so I will be installing my own wiring system but would like to know what others have done. Currently I am going to use the stock dodge swith mounted in the top of the door panel near the vent window....
I have a few door panels to mess with as well as extra doors so I am not too worried about the first time being perfect.
I have a set of four electric door lock actuators that I will be installing with an alarm system and am wondering where the xlt's had the power sent into the rear doors
