driver side door

08 screw lariat. Got home today turned off my truck and when i opend my door the radio did not trun off, and when i hit the lock unlock button on the door nothing hapend. The keypad on the out side would not function either. I used the key fob to lock and unlock the doors but the radio still would not turn off. I ended up having to open the passenger side door to get the radio to turn off. Any ideas as to what is going on with the driver side door?

So after a little research it sounds like there may be a broken/cut wire in the rubber boot between the door and the door frame. Wil check it out romorrow.

That is what I was going to suggest. When the door opens the dome light switch is supposed to cut current off to the radio. For some reason yours isn't doing that. I would look at a shop manual to diagnose the problem by symptom. It'll save quite a bit of time.

That's what it was. Two broken wire right in the middle of the rubber boot.
