I used 3" with a screw top cap and a drain valve at the bottom. Put a couple of the copper pot scrubbers inside to catch the residue.
I built this over a year ago when I did my re-route, still haven't put it in yet Right now I just have about 10 feet of hose curled up in the engine bay, who knows how much oil is in it. I'l finish it all up one of these days
That's very similar to the one I have on my truck. It's not 100% effective, but does trap about a tablespoon's worth of oil every 1000 miles.

Maybe I should just leave the 10' of hose coiled up, haha... so far I see no oil residue at the boots anymore. Could be attributed to the new set of boots and clamps from Clay, idk.

Oil may still be passing through, but the better seal of the boots is not allowing it to escape at the connections.

so what about all the post that say " make sure there's no dips in the line to hold oil. it could cause other seals to leak"
i would think it would push a little oil before it would leak out past a seal.

So your running a hose from the valve cover and a separate hose from intake, both to the canister?

Correct. By locating the "trap" farther away you minimize the liquid part of the vapor getting into the system, but keep the smell contained. Do a search for Guzzle's CCV for more details.

Yes

It is actually a hose going from the valve cover, through the catch can, and then back up into the intake.
