CCV Question

Doing a pre run on my CCV mod today and one part i couldnt figure out (for about 5 minutes) was how to disconnect the plastic intake tube thats is mounted on the CCV. How do i seperate these two parts in order to add my 3.5" exhaust. BTW - My trucks got 280,000+ on the dial. Its a tad rusty so i needed alot of PB to get some stuff undone.

Joe- what I did was pull the filter side of the intake off the CCV fitting, then take the two 10mm bolts out of it. Once that's done, just pull upward on it until it pops out of the hose attached to the bottom, at which point it will probably be popped out of the intake hose as well. Oh yeah, don't forget to loosen the clamp on the turbo side of the intake

Just don't do what I did and cut the little 90* bent hose off the doghouse- I ended up going to the hardware store today to buy an elbow fitting to take it's place. Also, the O-rings under the dog house will probably be in bad shape- I also picked up 2 O-rings at the hardware store for $0.49 to replace those. They are supposed to be 1.5 x 1.25 with an 1/8" diameter, I ended up with a slightly smaller size to get the 1/8" diameter but they stretched right over and fit into place nicely. Good luck with the mod!
