Anti-Gel, Cetane Booster - How Often?
Evenin' y'all. I recently acquired a 2008 250 SD 6.4 KR with 5K miles.... it was used as someone's toy, and is absolutely spotless. I brought the truck to my Ford mechanic who serviced my F150's for years, and was recommended to buy & use Motorcraft Cetane Booster & Performance Improver, and Anti-Gel & Performance Improver. Before using both/either of the aforementioned, I wanted to reach out to the experts, here. I've searched the topic with no avail, and hope for your input.
1. Are these redundant - or should both be used?
2. How often, and what quantity should be used?
Appreciate the help. Realizing threads are worthless without pics, I'll be sure to post some shortly!

X2 on this one. If I head north to Missouri from Texas this time of year, I use the Gray bottle even though it probably is not needed.

Power Service Diesel Kleen 8 oz. gray bottle and 1/2 oz. Bio Kleen every other tank. I have it all premixed and ready to go. It seems to space out regens and definitely keeps the HFCM clean and filters cleaner. Don't let the bugs get a hold in your HFCM. Drain 4-8 ozs. from HFCM regularly at least once a month.

I use the gray bottle of Power Services Diesel Kleen in the summer and when no threat of freezing, and the white bottle of Power Services when it is cold. I use it in every tank. I use the recommended dose of 1 oz. to 3 gallons of fuel. I use this to measure it out with.
Yep! A baby bottle. A pack of 3 at WallyWorld is around $2. I've used the same two(one in F350 and one I in Excursion) for the past 3 years. They are marked influid ounces which is what you need. A short bed had a 26 gallon tank= aright at 9 ounces when empty. A long be has a 37-38 gallon tank which is a full bottle and then 3 more ounces. Very easy to pour from these as well. Believe me, some of these guys have given me fits for using these, but they work and you can seal them off so no smell in the cab(if that's where you have to keep it).

I purchased my truck new in May 2007. 56 k on her and NEVER used any additives. I live in Colorado and shes been down to 10 below 0 and starts and runs fine. I dont usethe block heater either. I do pay attention and replace both fuel filters every 10 k. My lame brother has a GMC 05 diesel and uses additives all the time and needs them!

Short bed tank on the 6.4 is 30.5 gallons. However, the most I've EVER been able to fill from the pump is about 29 gallons. My fuel minder usually dings and I can get 26-28 gallons in.

I use Powerservice ( Diesel Kleen ) on every fill up or top off. Although it doesn't get too cold where I live..I use the white bottle during the fall/winter months and the gray during the spring / summer..It probably doesn't matter in my climate..but I feel the white is able to disperse water / moisture when cold and condensation is higher in the colder temps here. Like I said its only my logic
