First off let me say thanks to all you guys for the massive amount of information that you share here.
I bought my 2001 cc sb xlt back in june. It was completely stock with 90k mi. Since then I've suffered from a serious case of pms.

Again all thanks to the brotherhood!
Well when the temp started to drop the truck did not want to start on the first try then would romp so I did ohm check on gp's and one failed so they all got replaced. Also did 50 cent mod and re-torque while under the vc's. Switched to stancor when the gpr failed, switched to shaeffers synthetic and still no change. So I got AE ( Thornton CO-add to map) buzz test sounded good, cct was good except for #8 cylinder which I attribute to grey cps, but got p1211 code and had oil under icp electrical connection so replaced icp. Even when truck is plugged in for three or so hours it still romps and blows white smoke for a minute or so. Starting to wonder if its an injector issue, but she does run really good.
Welcome to FTE! I noticed this is your first post, so it would seem you've been lurking for a while to get as far as you have... good job! You're on the map... thank you for volunteering!
The valve cover gasket can also have issues, I found one with a burnt pin while helping a fellow member. You can conduct a continuity test from the 42-pin connector, this will test the whole injector loop to that point.
Passing a buzz test reduces the suspicion of a bad connection, but doesn't eliminate it. I recorded a good buzz test because the sound is just as important as the computer readout.
try unplugging, then reconnecting all the electrical doo-dads on your tranny.
in particular... the main big honkin connector on the side, and the one kinda toward the front/topish drivers side.
Thanks for the response. I will try these things. I Also failed to mention that I replaced IPR which makes me wonder what controls pulse width because it could not get over .30 at any point before and after icp and ipr replacement which seems low.
Please explain in a little more detail your starting issue. I had an issue a couple of years ago where on cold starts the truck would fire, run for 10-30 seconds and then die. Sometimes it would romp a bit and then keep running. After it dies, it would take a bit of cranking and then it would run just fine. Sound at all like your issue?
Not really. First crank is long but it does fire then romps real hard and dies. Sometimes does the same thing on second crank. From there it fires right away romps a bit then idle smooths out.
Okay truck sat for two days. I plugged it in this morning for about four hours. Hooked up scantool and had problems getting connected for some reason, so ended up having to cycle key several times. Also did koeo self test so figured it built up plenty of heat in cylinders. Anyway truck fired up on first crank and stayed running after a few hard romps and lots of white smoke. Only code after self test was p0605. Truck has 95k on it now. I logged the cold start and a brief wot run. I would like to post the data logs for someone to look over but am unsure how to do it.

Did you watch the Oil Pressure gauge on the dash when you started it?
