Hey guys I have an idea in my head and I was wondering if anyone else has done it, I have a 1968 429 with 71 PI heads, isky bracket racing cam, and edlebrock intake dominator 850 carb and its currently in my mustang but I was thinking of pulling the motor and putting it in my highboy and throw a blower on top. Right now it makes 400ish rwhp I'm thinking with a blower on top decent amount of boost It should make 600hp but my question is how will it look sticking out the hood of my 77 highboy? Anyone have a picture of a blower sticking out the hood of this body style truck?
Well first ask yourself what do you intend to do with the truck after the swap. I cant see it being a daily driver at that point. But imo, unless your pulling sleds, or mud bogging, nothing should be poking out through the hood. I did a search and all I came up with was the blower motor for the heater.
I drive it every 2-3 days and I always wanted a big a$$ blower sticking out of the hood of one of my vechiles I think it would be pretty bad a$$ but this might not be the truck to do it to i might buy a 2wd truck and build a drag truck.

Of the two options, the drag truck makes better sense to me. Either way you'll spend a lot of $$$ enjoying the blower of your dreams.
But then .... if it's not taking food or shoes or clothing from the baby or baby's mama .... if it's not gonna change your retirement .... if it's not gonna hinder other obligations already made .... if it's unused and uneeded moneys being spent .... then I say "do it".
Blowers through hoods were neat when I was building model cars in the '60s, they don't do much for me now. Each to his own though.
