2 digit vs. 3 digit code question

2 digit vs. 3 digit code question
I have a 91' F150 4.9 and it shows 3 digit codes. My dad's 92' F150 5.0 shows 2 digit codes. I know this is around the years they changed but I still thought this was kind of strange, my truck being a year older and all.
Maybe it has somthing to do with where the trucks were built, or did they just change some of the 4.9's over first?
Anyone else ever come across this?

He's the original owner but there's not much telling if that's the original computer or not. He wouldn't even know!
