I have a 1993 F150 with a 5.0L (302) Does this use 2 or 3 digit codes?
Using a code reader, beeps and blinking light, I get what I think are 2 digit codes, 31 and 34. The book that came with the tool shows 2 digit codes for my year, is this right?
The problem is a high idle, 1100 rpm that cylces up and down ~100 rpm. Also a slight surging during cruise.
I replaced the TPS a few weeks ago, with a new one. Mine is the non adjustable type.
I cleaned the throttle body, AIC and EGR with cleaner, that all seem to move freely.
It will use one or the other, but not both 2 digit and 3 digit. If the code reader is spitting out two digit codes, then that's what I would assume the computer is blinking out.

Thanks, it is definitely 2-digit codes, 31 and 34.
I chased the high idle for two weeks, mine did turn out to be a dirty throttle body, but other likely causes can be a vacuum leak.
I cleaned the Throttle Body, EGR Valve and Idle Control Valve. I checked for vacuum leaks but can't find any.
I did the KOEO test this morning, get 11 and then 31 and 34 in the stored memory.
The KOER test gives me a 13, (cannot control idle during low test).
I'm pretty sure the problem is with the TPS. I will check the voltage tonight. My is the non adjustable type. What do you do if the voltage is off? How do you adjust it?
BTW- how do you clear the stored codes from the memory?
