I have a 78 F150 4x4 with a 302 out of a 95 mustang gt that was swapped over to carbureted. Has shorty headers on it but if I run pipes with these style headers it hits the front driveshaft. Does anyone have an idea what I could do either with these headers or what headers would work.
That's what I figured haha. Just trying to see if anyone on here ever ran into or heard of this problem before. Also would you or anyone know anything about long tube headers that would bolt to the 95 gt mustang heads that would clear the 78 style truck body or are the heads the same for the mustang and the truck? I know more about trucks not mustangs haha. Would prefer long tubes over shorties though.
I had to heat up my long tube hedders & pull them over to clear the drive shaft. I also ran my pipe under the cross member rather than crossing it over to the passenger side.
I hear ya haha. I bought the truck with the 5.0 from the stang already in it. I plan on swapping later down the road just trying to get this exhaust thing figured out for now.
I had a 78 F 250 with a 302 in it and Dougs shorty headers. The exhaust shop ran the driver side pipe underneath the bell housing and through the crossmember side by side with the passenger side pipe so it can be done
