Though there are some nice positives about that truck, it doesn't justify the cost. I'd offer him $18K-$20K for it, not a penny more than $20 though...
He either has some serious money tied up in repairs or is in a bad financial position.
I also have a 2005 with way less miles, but my question is, how do I determine if I have the "dreaded 6.0"? Is it in the VIN code? A sticker on the engine?

What you gasser fail to understand is that diesel was cheaper than gasoline before, and now it is 0.70 cent more than gas; the owner of this rare king of SUV has been spend way too much money on the fuel cost that he need to recoup from selling this extremly rare SUV.
$15K max for me, since it all original so the following will need to replace: oil cooler/egr cooler, blue springs, STC, dummy plugs...etc. And V, Mod B Codes... when I get it home.
It says all stock but it looks like it may have a small lift to me. Seems to be a lot of space in the wheel wells. Even the starting bid price is outrageous.

Good call! I've read and wrenched on the 6.0 and that stuff didn't even cross my mind, guess I was being too generous.
Couldn`t you buy that brand new for close to $39K with rebates and incentives? my buddy bought an 05 EB V-10 X for around $38k that included tax and an extended warranty! the dealer wanted to get rid of it so they offered him a great deal!
And yes it does look like it is sitting higher than normal, but my Buddy`s 05 sits about an inch taller than mine and I have 285 tires compared to his 265`s.
The funny thing is... some fool with too much $$ will pay close to that price!
Yeah I have no doubt... We have a truck dealer in Florida that is notorious for putting diesels out at ridiculous prices, then drops a $950 "dealer fee" on you when you were ready to buy. But somebody is buying, because they're staying in business and the inventory rotates. They have an '05 Ex on their lot right now for $36k.
