Hey guys first time diesel owner here...need help with question about EOT and EOC. I just bought a 2003 F250 6.0 about a week ago. I dont have any past knowledge of the truck other than it looks brand new inside and out, underneath etc. It has 98000 miles. I did oil change and fuel filters second day of owning it. In the next week or so I will be adding a coolant filter, flushing coolant, trans service, 8oz of revex. Truck runs perfect. Added a SCT ITSX running Erics custom street tune. So heres the issue. My EOT at any highway speed is constant at193-194. My ECT is steady at 177. So my delta is always about 16-17 degrees. outside air temps here in dayton have been pretty cold at about 30-32 with the real feel 22ish. Not towing or driving hard besides occasional quick take off. Should this be cause for concern? Should I replace my oil cooler? if so how soon? Will do an EGR delete and HPOP filter screen with oil cooler replacement. Will the coolant flush and VC9 clean help any? Will coolant filter help? And does anyone know where or have a good write up on how to replace the oil cooler? I can handle the job, just need torque specs and any special notes. Thanks in advance! And by the way, these trucks are badace! LOVE IT!
The ect is low I would change your thermostat should be about 188 to 194 under. Normal conditions. Sounds like it maybe hanging partly open even with temps in the 30s. I would change it and check deltas again. Also make sure you used factory motorcraft or racor filters and have the motorcraft oil filter cap. They sell the motorcraft filters at Walmart the cap you would need to get from a ford dealer. tousley ford probably has it online and they have great prices for oem parts as well. The 03's have the round egr cooler and aren't as prone to failing but if you don't have emissions testing I delete it. A coolant flush would be a good idea the vc9 will help clean the cooling system, make sure it's totally free of the gold coolant replace with an elc coolant and add a coolant filter.
