Does anyone know the type of wire used for the Transmission Control Switch? My switch went out and after opening the steering column I noticed that the wires had broken in half. It took a long time to splice them back together because not much wire length. Now it appears the wires have done the same thing so I want to buy some wire to extend the length but not sure what kind to buy or where to buy it. Can anyone tell me the type and gauge of wire to use and where to buy it. I didn't notice the type at any of the auto retail stores I went to.
I just bought a new shift lever from Ford that came with new wires that were slightly longer than original. It wasn't that expensive, I seem to remember it was around $50. Of course that was about 5-7 years ago.
