Rear differential

Is it possible to lock the rear differential on these trucks without being in 4x4? The ability to do so would be awesome as far as having better traction on the snow and ice but not be in 4x4... I've got two trucks I'd be interested in doing it with, an '06 F-250 SRW and an '03 F-350 DRW.

The rear LS unit is automatic and is dependant on
wheel spin. The only way to lock it yourself is to
replace it with an air-locker or electric unit.

detroit lockers, arb, or just break out the welder ( not recomended). the oe unit sucks and gets over powered quickly
