Looking into getting one of these. I have a ford 9" open diff and run nothing larger than 35". I run on the street but need some extra traction on the roads to my fishing spots. I wnat a locker even though i have 4x4. Just a little extra help in snow and in some mud i run in to. I was thinking the powertrax no slip unit since it is more street friendly and uses stronger materials than the lock right unit also made by powertrax.
Any comments on this unit and how it holds up. the no slip is about $477 the lock rite is under $300. Worth the difference.
I just ordered this unit. I have yet to put it in my truck. I ordered it because it is the same one in my dad's El Camino. 350 Ci, 350 Hp / Tq. He has had the locker in for... 2 years I think? No problems. And he's hard on his car. I've driven it and didn't even notice the locker. However, when he burns out, which he so often does, both tires turn with equal force.
So you get the both of best worlds.
Edit: it may be note worthy; His rear tires are 29'' tall, and I believe 10'' or so wide.
