2007 4.6 advise needed

Hey guys I need some of you advise and opinions. I just put a deposit down on a 2007 f150 supercrew it has the 4.6. I have had a couple of 5.4's but no 4.6. Is the 4.6 a good motor? Does it last long? Does it have power? How about towing? I have a 28ft camper will this 4.6 pull it ok? My 5.4 pulled it just fine . I guess I just want a second opinion before I sign on the dotted line. I don't want to buy a truck that I can't use as a truck. Thanks guys

Well I have heard good things about the 4.6 motor. I have never owned or driven one. I towed a 26 foot travel trailer 3 or 4 times and I am glad i have the 5.4 motor. Not sure the terrian you drive, but I tow it through some elevation and the mountians in the western part of virginia. Not sure how the 4.6 would perform.

I agree I love my 5.4. I live in Michigan and don't pull the trailer every weekend and don't go but about 150 miles each way. I already test drove the truck it seems powerful and snappy. But I just am undecided. I don't want to. Buy a truck and just use it as a car. But again it's a great price on the truck. I wonder if there is any good mods for this motor?

I have the same truck you are looking at. 07 4.6 f150 4x4 and I think you will do fine with that truck. The motor is strong and reliable. I have had no problems towing with it. mine is tuned with a stock edge programmer. That is worth adding to the truck, it really helps wake the motor up.

I don't tow often, but I've no issues doing so when I do (4.6L, 4x4). Trailors up to 5K, it just will be a little slower than a bigger engined truck.

Both of my 4.6 engines began using oil once I hit the 100k mark. Dont know why, regular maintenace.

These were in an Expedition 1998 and a 2004.

Thanks, I was just responding to the OP about the 4.6, and our experience.

We recently sold the 04. Lots of stop and go driving and if I did not keep an eye on it, it would be very low between changes.

Thanks
