coolant leak

I am having a problem with a very sporadic leak. Some nights ill come out and theres a big puddle of antifreeze on the ground and sometimes not... I got a antifreeze pressurizer to check for leaks and i feel dumb but im scratchin my head on how to put the damn thing on cus we dont have a normal radiator cap. All i see is the two gromets on both sides. Do i take those out or how do i go about this. Any and all help welcome!!!

Well theres really only so many places it can be leaking, as long as you dont assume the worst (cracked block, head, etc). Where under the truck is it puddling? Some of the usual places include from the oil cooler and if the hoses are old. There are also some UV dyes, similar to the ones for AC leaks, that you can add to the coolant and use a UV light to find it.

You put the tester on in place of the reservoir cap, if it has an appropriate fitting for it.

The oil coolers seem to start leaking when it gets cold out. Where is the puddle under the truck?

The puddle is towards the front practically under the bumper.

Well, that leads me to believe its coming from the radiator or hoses. Crawl under there and check them.

If it was from the radiator, wouldn't it always be a constant leak though?

I cant tell you anything other than where to look. Only way to find it is to get under there and look. Sounds like its either your oil cooler, a radiator hose, or the radiator.

When my water pump started going out I would get a leak toward the front of the truck on occasion. Turned out the bearings were bad.

I replaced the water pump this summer. I'm gonna check all the hoses but where is the oil cooler located?

Driver's side, back end is right above the oil filter, front end bolts into the front cover.
