Cold start issues...again
I have read the tech folder on cold starts and many of the threads on this topic already. I have an 06' 6.0 F250 that runs rough when started around 40 degrees, at about 30 it will crank and crank but no fire. After about 15 min it will start and runs rough, lots of smoke and then clears up just fine. Narrowed it down to the GPR. Bought one from NAPA put it in and seemed to solve the problem. Worked for about three weeks and now its not wanting to start when its not plugged in at night.. My question is, is it possilble for the GPR to go out in three weeks? The old one I took out had heat cracks along the back so I broke it open and it was burnt up. NAPA says they will switch me out for a new one, but I would rather buy the one from FORD if I can keep from having this issue. Or is this a whole new set of problems? Before on cold start it would just run really rough for a few min, now when I leave work and its sat for 9+ hours it starts up runs rough and acts like it wants to die, but wont. It kicks into high idle but kind of chokes out, then runs fine.
Any advice is appreciated.
One more thing.. there is no check engine light or codes.
Thank you,
Thanks,
Courtney
