Does the Ex run? If it does, it may be possible to start it and let it run for the 1 - 2 hour trip. Would take less exertion than removing the rear driveshaft. This keeps transmission fluid pumping around.

I had the same thought but hit "cancel" rather than "submit"! I figured if it ran he would have drove it? But that is too simple?
