Hey fellas,
I'm debating building up the bronco a little bit, or getting a little bit newer ford 4x4. Just ran across a 95 f250 4x4 5sp for 1200. Supposedly runs good. Looks bad, rust on rear wheel wells. My immediate thought would be to buy and use to upgrade my bronco. Should end up about the same or cheaper....any opinions on said project?
I think he was asking if he should buy the 95 to swap components into his Bronco for "upgrade" purposes.
I will second the motion to stick with the Bronco and invest in it. At 20 years old its officially a "classic". You will kick yourself for "letting it go" before the end of next year if you do. Take it from someone who kicked himself for nearly a decade before finding another late 60's Cadillac to put in the garage. Now the '68 DeVille convertible AND the Bronco stare out the garage door at me as it rolls up. Ahhh... two of the classics I've always wanted. But I digress... keep the ol' girl. You won't egret it.
I would have to agree with GS, whatever your choice is, keep the bronc. Buying the pickup for parts to play with on the bronco isn't a bad idea BUT the stuff you could use from the pickup might not really "upgrade" the current bronco status. Though it might be nice to have some of the other interior parts, unless the pickup has a 351w and you bronc has a 5.0 there isn't much upgrades. It wouldn't be bad though, you could have the pickup to practice body work and painting on.
I'd look at it more in regards with what you want to do with your Bronco.
Do you want a 5 speed instead of an automatic?
Does the truck have things you want but your Bronco doesn't?
If there's lots of goodies on the truck you want, then you need to gauge how you want to spend your money.
