Just got me a new truck a DRW. Don't know if I can get them on this new truck but plan on it. I miss the traction of them.

Did you get the DRW for the stability of pulling/ handling the big 5th wheel or just felt the need for something bigger.

I have almost 30,000 miles on mine. mostly hwy. some off road. I'm real happy with the ride and the tread life. Tires are barely worn. I rotate regularly.

I got it because of the smoother ride while towing. Wifey's back is not the best and this summer I was watching her wince on some of the roads.

My king pin weight comes in at a little over 3K so with the DRW is better distributed over the four tires.

The SRW did just fine though.

Cooper Discoverer ATP

Hey guy's, I have a question on the tread depth on the ATP's. I just picked up a pair of used ATP's from a guy at my work who practically twisted my arm to buy them from him. He was heading to North Dakota for the winter and needed more aggressive tires. He told me the tires had about 15,000 miles on them. They look practically brand new hand have about 6-7 mm of tread depth in the middle and around 7-8mm of tread depth near the sides. Does anyone know how deep the tread is on a new tire?

I have run BFG All terrain 275/7017's and BFG 265/70/17's on the truck and have been extremely happy with both since I have put 2 sets of tires on the truck in the last 11 years. The Coopers look great though and since I only paid $25 a tire I'm excited to upgrade to the 285/70/17's. I am a little concerned the tires could rub on turns but they are only about 1/2 inch taller and wider than my old 275's.

Any thoughts?

At $25 a tire even if they rub a little on a turn that's a killer deal.

I within the last couple of weeks installed new tires on my dually. Went with Cooper HTP Discoverer 245/75/17 factory size replacement. $126 each, but with all the mount, balance, and tax it came to $902 Ltd. So far I realilike them, the ride is fantastic.

BTW, I found a typo in my post. I got 4 tires at $25 per tire not a pair.
