Hey guys been a while since i been on here thanks for all the great write ups on the 6.0. I just put a deposit on my first 6.0. I been doing my homework on here reading up on all the good info. I have checked the truck out front to back top to bottom like 3 times and everything looks really good it drives like a new truck. It is a 2004 f250 6.0 xlt lariat only downfall is the manual transmission but i can deal with that. I just hope this thing works for me. I drive truck for a living and am gone all week and the truck will be sitting at work 4-5 day per week and not able to plug it in I hope that it will start in temperatures of 0 and above. I plan on replacing all fluids and filters when i get it home and going to factory filters. except i think i will go with the air filter mod i read about on here. The truck is all factory except for the exhaust. Like I said everything looks good on this thing. Any recommendations on mods that are necessary? This thing has 185k miles on it and the only pulling I will do with it is my 32' camper trailer a few weekends in the summer other than that probably just a daily driver 200 miles or so per week? If there is any other mods i should do that wont break the bank or any other advise let me know. Once again thanks for all the write ups it sure was helpful.
Thanks. Im unsure what coolant do you recommend? What oil is good I run mobile Delvac 15/40 in my semi. Is that a good oil for the 6.0? Should I run some sort of fuel additive? I run Howes fuel treatment in my big truck.

Since you are up north, run a synthetic. Mobile 1 or Rotella T-6 5w-40. The truck will like it.
Fuel additives are good to use.
Diesel Kleen white bottle in the winter, gray bottle in the summer. There are others, this is what most use. Including me.
The stock air filter is best, it's been said to filter up to 500HP. Doesn't sound like you are going that direction.
Gauges, something like Scangauge II, Edge Insight, Torque APP for android phones, Dashboss for iphones. Should do these before purchase. Need to see what the health of the motor is.

I guess I am on the ELC EC1 coolant bandwagon. I question whether or not the Ford Gold is all that bad, but I switched to ELC Ultra - that has some very good chemistry to it.

I don't mean to high jack the op's thread, but where do you find the ELC Ultra?
