Two questions for a start...
1 My truck is in the street after my owner (wife) drove it one mile home with a busted serpentine belt. Is it safe to start and put it in my garage?
2 I realise that it is attached to a mounting bracket that also mounts the alternator. Does the whole bracket have to be replaced or just the pulley?
The pulley siezed and took out the belt and a fan blade.
I see that the pulley is held on by one bolt, so that part is "easy" (yeah, right, assuming that the steel bolt hasn't frozen to the aluminum bracket). As for the starting and running of the truck, that I'm still leary of firing up, not being sure if the belt will also affect the engine timing, and lead to more serious problems.
