Yes i have a problem i was hopin ya'll could help me with. I have a 65 ford i'm puttin a 352 in it and a c6 tranny The 352 i have was a manual but i'm not sure what it came out off and my question is what do i have to do to get my torque converter to bolt up to my flywheel. The center of the converter is hitin my crank. The hole just ain't big enough for my torque converter center. Do i have to change the hole crank or is there a bushin or something i have to get out of the crank. I'm just stumped...
Hey brunieo25, Welcome to FTE and the Slicks forum.
You haven't removed the pilot bushing/bearing from the end of the crank. Don't know if there are new methods or tools for removal, we can wait to see if something is posted.

If it had a manual trans the crank would have a brass bushing. To remove find a socket that fits the hole in bushing, fill bushing/crank hole with grease then put a extension in socket and tap on it. The grease will push out the bushing. Even a light tap will work. As the bushing pushes out you may have to add more grease. Its like having a 20 ton press pushing the bushing out . . . Nothing else will push it out so even and so easy. (my dad taught me that trick over 40yrs ago and works better than a slide hammer)
Of course if you have a slide hammer with proper end that will work too but you will be SURPRISED at how well the grease trick works.
There are a couple different sizes on C-6 Converters too so make you you have the correct sized hub where it goes into the crank
If you do not have a socket the correct size you can add masking tape to a smaller socket or slightly grind one to fit. Anything you have that is solid that fits the pilot bushing hole you can tap on.
If you have a plastic clutch alignment tool that will do in a pinch . . .
A wood dowel of the correct size works pretty good to. Shown that trick after fighting with a mopar for a few hours. Brother in law thought it was pretty funny....
K thanks for the replies. It was a big help and I had to drill the brass bushin out of the end of my crank but still havin trouble with the c6 getin flush with the engine block. I'm doin this in my backyard without the right tools lol. Got the motor on a cherry picker and the tranny on a tool box for a truck. Tranny to heavy to pickup and just put on the motor. That aod i had in it was alot lighter. Well if ya'll got any advise let me know on a easier way to bolt that tranny up. Havin a hard time.

If it still will not go into place did you check the hub size compared with the crank hole? Also it could be you do not have the converter in the trans all the way. You should have a full 1" plus from front side of trans case to the forward part of stud on converter. If not in all the way simply grab the hub push in and turn at same time until it goes all the way in. when trans is in place there should be some movement in converter. if not it is simply not in all the way. If you try to force it you will break the case on transmission.
Ok I will check all that stuff again. on the flex plate what side goes to the block. Just wonderin on that. I do think i have it right but to be safe i will ask. I can only get it to bolt up one way so it may be dummy proof.
