I have a 96 E series 24 passenger bus with new tires on it. When the roads are snow covered or slippery and you start to slow down with very minimal brake pressure the front tires lock right up and it doesnt slow the bus down at all. If you then apply more brake pressure you can feel the rear ABS pulsate the brake peddle and the bus stops great. Problem is you cant steer at all while stopping which is no big deal on a flat surface but if the road slants towards the ditch thats where your headed. Is it possible to put ABS on the front so i can steer while stopping or reapportion the brakes so that the rear does most the braking. RB
I don't know about Fords but one of my DRW GMs had a weight proportioning lever that would increase the rear brake bias according to how much weight was in the rear. On my 94 pick uip with RWABS I had the same problem and found that my rear brakes had a bad self adjuater. I changed out both and it was much better but still skittish when empty on slippery roads. A full tank and 300 lbs of ballast worked wonders.

I dont think it has an adjustable proportion valve like you described. The fuel tank is aft of the rear axle and the frame was stretched like 5 feet so it makes it front end lite. It drives like a 4 wheel drive and will push threw several feet of snow no problem because most the weight is on the rear axle.
