Did the AIC mod on my truck today, used a potentiometer without an integrated switch and just wired the TVS circuit to one of the open switches on my F650 dash, my question is, is it normal for the high idle not to activate after i turn the switch off, if so would it be okay to just leave the switch on all the time and idle it up as needed?
Which method did you use....there are several variations out there. You do not want the idle validation on all the time. Is that the switch you are talking about?

I used the one that's a 5k ohm potentiometer and a 4.7k ohm resistor on the TPS wiring and a switch on the IVS. Yes that's the switch i'm talking about, i did some testing in my drive way and if i activate the high idle, turn the switch back off it won't re-activate until i shut the truck off and re-start it. Is that normal?

I think that is correct based on what you describe. I would expect the TPS needs to return to base before the PCM looks for IVS again.

Okay, i'll try zeroing the potentiometer again before activating the IVS, or would the resistor not allow the TPS to see a 0 position without restarting the truck?, didn't think about it when i ordered the chip

I am not sure. I think you might need a switch on the potentiometer as well.
Isn't the F5 the type that can accept calibrations via e-mail or am I thinking of something else?
Seems like a silly question but I will ask it anyway....
You do have an automatic, correct? If so, is it a PTO version?
Trucks with a PTO 4R100 have high idle built in already. You just need to locate two wires and install a switch.
Iwould be very careful in what you are doing. I had the unfortunate luck to blow my PCM doing what you are doing. The Pot failed and shorted the system. Expensive fix! I am a firm believer in getting the factory AIC or get your truck tune with that option.

It is an automatic, but does not have the PTO provision on it

I'll have to start searching e-bay then for a factory AIC then
