As some of you know I am having trouble with my E99. It will start then die, start then die. I think we have narrowed it down to the UVCH. Since I'm gonna have the valve covers off anyway I want to replace all the trouble spots under there at once to head off any future problems. Here is a list of what I have ordered from RiffRaff. Please take a look at it and let me know if I am missing something or if there is a mod I should do while I'm in there. Thanks.
Re-torque the rocker arms and injector hold down bolts! I don't have the specs off hand but someone will chime In with them. Does it get cold enough to need glow plugs by you? If so replace them while its all apart, riffraff has the motorcraft glow plugs, use only motorcraft as other brands have presented issues.
uvch's arent a bad thing to freshen up but...
why have we concluded they are the issue?

ipr, icp, and cps were the last 3 fixes with the same symptoms.

New injector orings are on the list. Also all new glow plugs. I may be headed to North Dakota after the first. Definitely gonna need em. Lol
Did you measure the inlet and outlet for your intercooler? My e99 in/out are 3.25 inches on the intercooler. The cactruck pipes areshorter 3 inch. Might want to get some calipers to measure those.

I have tried 2 new cps's with the one in it now being brand new from Ford. I ran a buzz test with the AE and they didn't sound good at all. Also I tried to run a glow plug test with the AE and the test failed. From this I am assuming wiring problems.
I was thinking about that. Where does the other end hook to with the mod?
you turn your ccv "doghouse" around 180 degrees, so it vents out to the back, hook your house to it and route it over the master cylinder and down to the fram rail, run it on back past the cab to avoid fumes in the cab. you can add a home made filter if you like. but it just ends there. do a search for "ccv mod" it will have instructions on how too's.

I didn't measure them because I wasn't any where near the truck at the time I placed the order. Of course I ordered the wrong ones, I got the 3x3 and mine are like yours. I tried to call RiffRaff after I got to the truck and saw my mistake but was unable to get them on the phone. My boots at the intercooler are still in decent shape. I will reuse them until I can send the ones I ordered back and get the right ones. My bad. Dooaaahhhh!!

Hmmm... In that case I believe I better pass on that mod. I have to deal with enviromentalist on a daily basis. Anything that could cause a few oil drips is verboten in my line of work.
Shows pressure on the factory gauge. I've run it a couple hours since this started. I would think it would of come apart by now if it wasn't? No?
A weak LPOP has been known to cause the symptom you described. The engine starts then dies, then eventually starts and runs fine the rest of the day. Then it starts all over again when it has been sitting for a while.
Next time you cold start, check the oil level in the HPOP reservoir....then check again immediately after the engine dies. The plug should be installed any time the engine is running. Also, make sure you clean the plug and surrounding area before opening the reservoir to minimize the chance of debris getting down in there. A tiny little bit can cause issues with the IPR...
