The panel sides would not inset like that, they would be flush with the cab sides.

It was a quickie photoshop, just wanted to present an idea of what it would look like.

I doubt this plan would get out of the idea stage. It's next to impossible to find a good set of quarters to use on a full panel. It would be a travesty if a good, solid panel would be sacrificed to pull this off, IMO. But I think it would look pretty slick though.

Yeah I dont like the look of the forward angled tailgate, gives it a more modern customs look. But thanks for the photoshop chop.

There is a very good chance this will never get past the idea phase. And yes I agree it would be exremely hard to find a panel body donor worth cutting, even if I could afford it.

What I thinking is the bedsides themselves look like single axis curvature which would be easy enough to form. Ite the fenders that are gonna be tricky. The panel fender lines are almost a mix of 53-56 f100 and previous generation rear fenders with a slight forward angle at the front.

Has this idea gone any further?
I have always (since I built a model doing this 20 years ago) wanted the late 90's early 00's stepside bed on my 53 F100. It would have to be narrowed the front wings removed. But the curves looking down match up to the hood beautifully. I haven't found anyone that has done it or pictures of anything close besides whats on this thread.

I would have done it but couldn't find another panel and certainly wasn't going to use the one I have..
