My 07 f150 lariat just got back from the shop. I bought it wrecked at auction and had my dads shop rebuild it and everything is done now. I am going to clean the heck out of it this weekend but would like to know the best method/products that everyone uses to get all the chrome to look new and amazing. Things like the door handle, window pillars, running boards, bumper, mirrors, and so on.
Mothers use to make a really good chrome polish that was readily available. I use a product called Profection Paint Sealant (P-73-Q)…It is actually a paint sealant but it has a very high grade/quality of polish in it as well- as good as the (very) old 3M polish in the 70's had....I also use this on all my chrome, stainless, etc…it not only shines it up like new but it is sealed from the elements as well……it works very nice on the poly carbonate headlamp lenses as well- cleaning up the lighter haze that happens over time. If you have any rust pits, just use (with the polish) steel wool #0000 or #00000..it is soo fine it will not scratch the chrome and clean all the rust pits out....just gentle pressure, nothing hard.
