Water Drain plug need help

Hi... first time posting in the 6.0 section... i really need some help...

i just bought this truck couple months ago... and ive been going around it doing all the maintenance stuff ive discovered hasnt been done in awhile... well heres where my problem is... apparently in some point in its history... one of the previous owners replaced the water drain/fuel pressure relief plug with a soft brass plug.. well ive been trying for the last 4 days to get this plug out.. and its fighting me at every stop...

the little nub in the center came right out...

but the outer plug... i cant get to budge at all...

tried the e-z out people suggested would work.. but hasnt come out.. and all i did was manage to bend the tool that holds onto the e-zout... and the wrenches just round off the corners on it...

I ended up replacing the cover on mine when I could not remove it. Also, make sure you replace the plug with this:

Ford part number: 6E7Z-9C082-A
International part number: 2589259C91

The new manifold will not have the fuel heater that your 04 has. Seems there might be another harness for it, ( I don't recall for sure) or zip tie that plug up out of the way.

Ford did away with the fuel heater on later years.

Looks like they're going for a little over $100 now 6C3Z-9B249-B
Get that updated plug too.

You *can* take the cover off and see if you can remove the plug on the bench, worst case you have to get a new cover anyway.

I think this is the right part number now. It has changed a couple times

First it was:

6C3Z9B249A

Then :

6C3Z9B249B

Now

6C3Z9B249C

The tSB from a time ago shows B

If you enter it into Tousley's search engine as the "B" it comes up as old part# and then becomes "C".
