upgrading battery cables & starter cable

Along with replacing oil cooler, deleting egr cooler and upgrading other parts..

I have decided to replace all charging cables & starter cable.

I have enough 1/0 welding cable left over from my rock crawler build to replace everything.

I got the charging cables covered, but I am unsure what size cable to use from the passenger battery to the starter.

Also....... does it matter what connector I use at the starter end? I see that Ford used an end that doesn't allow the connector to spin while tightening the nut.........does it matter?

Thanks

I don't have enough form the grounds, but all it takes is for me to stop by Airgas welding supply on the way home and pick up some more.

I will do that after everything else is done.....

Been looking at the DC ALTs and I am considering it, but will have to wait till after Xmas.

Just be glad you can do your own wrenching dave I have seen a Handful of folks breakdown in the Last few weeks and have a mechanic/repair Bill that I would Consider straight up Theift

The Good thing about DC is they dont require a Core so you keep your old one for a Backup

These trucks take alot of Juice at startup

Yeah.......... I could tell that (start-up) takes a lot of juice just by seeing the thick cable from battery to starter.....geeesh

I got to take the new cables and have ends put on them one day this week. I think I am just going to do the charging cables for now and next payday do the rest.
