fuel leak???

hey guys i have a 96 7.3L with fuel leaking from somewhere up top. when i first bought the rig it had a fuel leak and we found it was from the fuel pump which i have found is a very common problem. i replaced that and the lines that run to the fuel filter bowl ( all 3 of them). put everything back together but its still leaking from somewhere in that same middle valley between the fuel filter housing and fuel pump. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If its not coming from the fuel pressure regulator, it could be your bowl. They have a tendency to rot in the bottom. Could be the drain valve oring on the bowl also.

If you could help me out im kinda new with diesels only having this for about 3 or 4 months and this one being my first one.... where is the fuel pressure regulator and if it isnt the filter bowl that is rotted can that oring be replaced? is it difficult to do if so? Also, if it is rotted can the filter bowl be replaced or is there a way to fix it?

No problem. The fpr (fuel pressure regulator) is on the drivers side of the fuel bowl. The top sensor on the fpr is a known leaking spot. You can buy an oring kit from Riffraff for the fuel bowl and regulator if you need it. 15 bucks or something. If the bowl is rotted, and not too bad, some have used jb weld after cleaning it good with success. If the bottom is real bad, you need a different bowl, or switch to electric fuel. A new bowl is 3-400 bucks. I do have a used bowl/regulator I'd sell cheaper than that if needed.

Look here, it is the fuel filter restriction sensor. It's a common area of leak and hard to see because the leak is actually where the connector plugs in. Truck has to be running and a bright flashlight helps.

hey guys i did some research into where my fuel leak is coming from. it seems to be coming from where the FPR and the fuel filter bowl meet. its coming out of there then flowing down the side of the bowl over all of those connections for the WIF sensor and such and into the valley. its gotten progressively worse so i was wondering how i could fix that? should i pull everything? is there a gasket that can go bad between the two?
