Fuel leak

I started the ol beast up today and had a huge puddle of fuel under truck! I looked in the valley and it was full of fuel. Heard something about a leak under the fuel bowl. Some advice on where to start would be greatly appreciated?!

The first time this happened on my '95 it was the fuel pump towards the back of the block (warranty fix), and the second time the fuel filter cap wasn't screwed all the way down (my bad). Good Luck

Could also be vacume sensor leaking or fuel regulator .

If it's a 94.5 truck, then it could be any of those. The fuel pump is certainly at its end of life, the stuff stuck through the filter housing might be leaking, or the filter housing itself might even have some pinholes in the bottom. Time to clear everything out of the Valley Of Doom and have a look!

something as simple as water seperator drain valve? I've heard stories of the fuel bowl cracking. When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? I once had my fuel filter o-ring cockeyed. Leaked all over the place.
Best bet would be to clean it up, start it up and look for the leak.
Check the simple stuff first.

Sorry it took a while to get back I am working on the beast and redoing the bathroom, all on my christmas vacation. I need to go back to work to relax! Water seperator valve seems to be working fine. I just changed fuel filter today and it still leaks. I dont see any visible cracks. Tried to look with inspection mirror, not an easy task, couldnt see any leaks while running. I just might have to take this one in, because mondays coming quick and the bathroom needs to be done! Thanks for the replies fellas!!

Been there done that ( trying to do more than one thing at a time ) ! stroker , if you take it "in" DO NOT take it to a dealer !! find a shop that works on diesels ( ask around ) , it will be cheaper and they just might know more !
Good luck with the bathroom !! Please let everyone know what you find out with your truck .

Leak ended up to be cracked fuel bowl in the bottom. The bowl was full of what seemed to be dirt and other crap! Is there a way to clean these bowls out every now and again? Buy the way, does anybody know how much the fuel bowl costs? Just want to compare the price! Thanks for all the knowledge fellas!!
