I've changed the fuel seperator gaskets but it appears that fuel is leaking (at about 3 drops per second) from something below the fuel filter. When I run my fingers around the fuel seperator it is dry. I don't know. Guess I'll bite the bullet and take it to the dealer.
dont give up so easy.
so you replaced filter and changed the gasket, now did you look at the drain valve if by any chance you dont have leak there?
few bucks and you will be all set.
give us more details on whet you did.
andif i were you i would :
1)drain the fuel bowl,
2)wipe it dry with the rags
3)get those blue shop towels or cardboard and styff it under the fuelbowl
4)turn you key on to get fuel in the bowl
5)check where is getting wet first....
ohhh make sure you dont have leaking fuel line on the driver side fuel bowl line going to the regulator housing and the one under it , mine was leaking while ago....

O.K., bear with me as I'm not very mechanically inclined.
I just took another look at it. It doesn't appear that the fuel line coming into the fuel filter housing (fuel bowl?) are leaking.
All I did was remove the seperator and change the gaskets. Didn't muck with the fuel filter at all.
When you say drain the fuel bowl, do you mean to just move the yellow arm on the seperator until it is empty???
yeep just to releave the press of fuel in the bowl.
and thats where a lot of people are getting leaks too thet yellow arm has 2 o-rings.
and your separator and fuel filter is the same unit, those truck dont have separate fuel filter and separator.
why did you replace the gasket?
I had to replace my fuel drain valve last week. I don't remember the cost, but it was minimal (less than $60.00 from local Ford dealer). Have to say though, it was a PITA to change. I finally just made a tool to get the darn thing off & on again.

It was the two o-rings that I changed.
Was just looking at changing the fuel filter and it said that is where alot of leaks are coming from. Better go change that out and see if that is my problem...
this is the whole fuel bowl,it has the fuel filter in it, the thing with the plastic round cap on it. 2 common places to leak are 1 plastic Lid if the gasket is not inserted correctly or the lid is shot, 2 fuel drain Valve, that yellow thing in the back of it,
than it might have leaking fuel lines, might leak where fuel heating element goes in, thats the plug next to Yellow drain valve. or like Dan said it might have crack on the bottom.

Doh! I just did this and it appears that it is coming out from underneath the fuel drain valve. Maybe I'll pull it off and replace the whole assembly. Arrg
