If the one you have is faulty there is a 90% chance you can fix it.
There are two surface mount resistors that come loose from the printed circuit board.
This happens because they have little chance to cool being closed up.
The solder on the board get brittle so thay break loose with the heating and cooling cycles that take place.
A small 25 watt iron will do the job.
