Rear main seal question

Okay so removing the rear main seal is pretty self explanatory, remove the "crankshaft cover" which the seal is housed in im assuming, and when you do that it will expose that "upside down V" gasket", correct? When removing the "crank cover" or whatever the real name is for that, will oil come spilling out? i got it unbolted and then thought....i hope this isn't holding in a b unch of oil i mean it is right about the oil pan. do i have to drain the oil to remove that plate?

That is well above the oil level. You will be just fine. You will need the V gasket too. Just pull the plate and inspect the crank and make sure it doesn't have a groove in it.
