baller - I've got to say those MT's suit your truck well, and it looks good Don't know if I'd want to loose that kind of mpg though, as most of the time it waill be hauling my TT on 'normal' roads..........but still need something I can rely on if it does get wet and slippy!

What sizes are on yours?

those are 35x12.5.18s i still get decent enough gas mileage to take it on long trips all the time, that being said i dont tow anything.

Oh yeah...the one on Big Bend Rd. Live on 41 between A.B. and Ruskin.

I think we all have some stories like that. Mine involves shutting down an overheating truck on the beach with an incoming tide. Things almost got really ugly when water came under the truck.

This was the last time I got stuck............and wet! I don't use the Defender for towing much though, more a work vehicle and something to play in when the motocross tracks are too wet too ride (BFG's AT on this, but it was my driving that got me stuck )

That's why I like the Toyo AT's.

The Ex is our TT tow rig (31' 10k lb TT) and I've gone wheeling with it at Pismo Beach. I just air'd the tires down to 18lbs and I tore up the sand dunes.

The tires do equally well in soft mud. Just last night the wife told me our daughter was driving through a really muddy/soft area out at the ranch where the horses are kept, and she got stuck. She said it was soft and muddy, just sloppy gooey, and the tires were cutting a rut.

She said it was so bad even 4-wheel wouldn't pull 'em out and she had to teach my daughter how to rock the truck back and forth to get free.

I was kind of surprised because the Ex is really a beast in 4x4 and I asked her if she remembered to lock the hubs (I replaced the OEM hubs with Warn premiums earlier this year) and she smiled and said, "oops."

LOL, they managed to get unstuck without engaging the 4-wheel drive, on a set of worn out Toyo's.

Yep, I'm very happy with this tire. About the only thing I'd think of trying other than the Toyo's would be a set of Michelins.

Ok so as someone running stock tires pretty much I am just wondering if I were to run say 285 or 305 75 16's they would give my truck more height? I'm trying to get a cooler higher type look without going crazy and trying to get some more ground clearance. What do you guys think?

Others on here will probably will be able to help you more, as I'm limited to the few American vehicles I've owned and using the internet! But when I was buying my last set of wheels and tyres, I used a trie size calculator to put into what I had, and what I wanted then compared it on my truck. Also I found each tyre make is slightly different, so if you do find the type and size you want, you can find the specs for that specific tyre and check the sizes.

And just remember the width (say 285) is used as the first number, then the second is a percentage of that width, to give you the height (say 60) then obviously the diameter (say 18)

But the calculator is easier to use

Thanks for that Stewart I do seem to find more people happy with the Toyo AT as I have the BFG - and what you have described is exactly what I want out of a tyre - we sometime take the car to the beach in the summer, it gets really wet and muddy here in the winter, but main use for the truck is pulling our TT (similar size and weight)

And you probably didn't realise how cool your post sounded to someone here in rainy England.........Wife teaching daughter how to off road.........daughter driving an F250........horses and raches Think I'm stuck in the wrong country!!
