IMO, FEs don't need a stud girdle for the mains due to the block's deep skirts. If anything, cross-bolted main caps, ala the 427 side oiler, would be the way to go.
If anything, I'd add a windage tray from Canton or Moroso.

I concur, imo a girdle is pretty redundant on an FE for the reason stated above, if you feel that you need more strength on the bottom end having the block machined for cross bolts isn't much more than a girdle, which is typically $250-300.
