frame swap

so i just scored a 78 150 short bed 4x4 with the 400 or 351M in it. i was tossing around putting this frame under my 74 f100 i know the cabs inter change i know how to swap over 4spd over because ive done that before. what needs to be done to put my 390 in to this truck. how different are the motor mounts form the 351m/400 to the 390 what has to be done to make it fit

Are they both 4wd? I think all you need is the engine frame towers, if that's the case.

Hope you got the title with the frame cause they go together, the body has a door ? I call it a vin plate, but it has a different real name. And the sticker by the door striker is called something else also but the vin is there.

The frame vin is in line with the alternator and under the passenger side front seat mount area (both are on the top side of the frame rail and HARD to find).

All depends how close and picky your DMV is, its always easier to take both titles (frame and body) and tell them what you did.

Yes on the towers and trans crossmember, I do believe

Great point. The legal VIN on these trucks is the one on the top of the frame rail on the passenger side. Because the tags that are affixed to the doors are nothing more than trim tags. I researched his for my own truck.
