Limited Slip Diff Vibration Problem

The X has 107K on the clock. I have a 6 quart after market aluminum diff cover installed with Royal Purple 75W-140 synthetic gear oil and no limited slip additive in the gear oil. When I make a left or right turn, I get this vibration like the limited slip clutch pack is engaging then disengaging. It is not a thump or thud but just a subtle vibration. I don't hear any noise but I just feel the vibration. It happens either going forward or backing during a turn and is more noticeable when pulling a load and turning. Going straight down the road I hear no noise and feel no vibration. I thought I would ask before I pulled the diff cover off.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm running the RP fluid as well with no modifier and get the same feeling. The RP fluid shouldn't require any modifier but you will experience a slight scrubbing on turns either left or right. You can add a small amount (1-2oz) of modifier at a time to reduce the sensation but it personally doesn't bother me. If you just changed the fluid or have added modifier - make sure you do several figure 8 patterns in each direction to ensure everything gets circulated through.

Thanks for the response. I just was concerned my clutch pack might be coming apart. I'll get some modifier and try it.

Your diff is at the optimum condition; plenty of grab but not too slippery.

That is exactly how I feel as well - I know it's working.
