Check power at the connection on the truck with a DVOM. What connector type is it round 7 or flat?
Just had a similar problem. Found the circuit board in the main fuse box (Under the hood) has soldered relays for the trailer connector pemnanantly attached to it. One relay controls running lights and the other controles brakes and turn signals. Dealership wanted $600.00 to replace the whole board. Went to the local U Haul dealer and had old school trailer harness wired directly into the existing harness (The way is used to be done before all the technology). Total cost for parts and labor $93.00. Good luck
Unplug your seven way from truck wiring harness and check at truck wiring harness side for voltages present for running lights, brake lights, and L/R blinkers.
Also don't be surprised to find corrosion again after a year. Clean any corrosion from male/female pin connections if present.
If truck wiring harness side checks good, clean any corrosion if present on pins, reconnect and try same checks at seven way again.
Engine side power box (BJB)
BJB F1.9 right is C1187 Left is C1188
look for F1.9 near it you will see 4 relay spaces and the 2 above F1.9
F1.20 trailer tow connector 7-pin
In Cab (CJB)
Trailer tow charge relay left center top in CJB C2110
trailer tow parking relay F2.38 lower edge 5th over from center right counting left
In this linked PDF you will find the CJB and the locations of the relays http://www.frybrid.net/ford_02_fuses_wiring.pdf
I could not find a diagram for the BJB there should be one in the owners manual.
