Does anyone know what year F250 first had chips put in them? I'm looking for the older trucks without chips that have dual fuel tanks. I need to confirm the latest year of this change to know which trucks to buy.
So basically 1986 would be the last for sure and maybe 1987 for the 460 trucks and you might find a F250 with a 5.8 HO but I am not sure if they had that engine in the F250 (the F150's had them, I had an 85) and they went till the early 90's I believe with a Holly 4180c if memory serves me correctly.

he is looking for a truck without a computer, not a chip or tuner
Yeah, I think that's probably a more accurate way to describe what I'm looking for. I have not been able to get a definitive answer on this. A friend has an '84 mercedes diesel he bought without computer in it. I'm wanting the same thing from an F250 diesel simply because of the dual fuel tanks. I just need to determine what the latest model is that qualifies. Any thoughts?
ahhh. diesel trucks.
94 was a mixed year. you could get a IDI, IDI turbo, and powerstroke engine in the 94 year trucks. the powerstroke was the only computer controlled engine.
IDI was non computer, but if it had the overdrive automatic trans, it had a trans computer.
