hey guys, just came into a little bit of money and was wondering what you guys would do with it, i was thinking either take it to a shop and let them fix the engine smoking, which honestly isnt very bad, just im ocd and it gets kind of annoying, or should i put an aluminum intake on the old girl, to go under my new holley 750? engine is a 73 429 btw
If I understand your dilema correctly, you can't afford to do both and I am assumting that you have already bought the Holley but not the intake. Personally, I think the overhaul would be a lot more than the price of an aluminum intake, installed. I'm not sure of what is causing the engine to smoke but I would probably find out what is causing it to smoke first, and then make a decision. Maybe it doesn't need a complete overhaul and you could get both done? In any event, I would want to get my engine diagnosed and then correct that problem before adding performance to the engine. My 2 cents.
