This is just odd. Even with my headlights in the full off position, the gauge pod is fully lit, all the time. Do you have the standard gauge pod, or the one with the productivity lcd in the center?
That seems a little odd alright the way you describe it. Now that I have the DRLs turned on I can't test mine like that. The dealer told me that not all trucks have the DRL feature, I don't know if that is the truth or not. What I can tell you is that in the mornings on my way to work my lights are on and my dash lights are dim. When it gets light enough for the headlights to turn off and go to the DRL my dash lights get a lot brighter. I will have to check this coming weekend if in the middle of the day I have dash lights but I think I do.
It cost me $48.75 to have my DRL turned on. Maybe next time your in to the dealer have him check it out, maybe there is something wrong anyway. I wouldn't think your dash lights would go out during the day.
Luis. At night time and just turn on headlights only. Do your dash lights get very bright. And about obnoxious with the thumbwheel at max. One click from turning domes on?
Tim Young,
Thanks for the information on DRL's, went to the dealer today and they activated mine. It took about 10 min. to do. I am pretty good friends with our diesel mechanic and he didn't know you could do that, so he hooked me up.
