For about $50 it's a great purchase, and they seem to hold up quite well. Had one in my older Explorer and will be getting one for my '06 soon as I too have some deterioration in the 12 o'clock position from my hand oils.
I was just looking at those. They looked pretty good to me.

For $60.00 fricken dollars they better look real good. I only want to wrap my wheel between 10 and 2 on the clock. I think I'm going to have my wife escort me to the fabric shop and see what I can come up with on my own.

Tim its worth every last penny. Look at it this way...its the cost of one tank of fuel and it'll last wayyyyyy longer.
Also you can find them on Amazon for about $40 with free shipping.

Your tank must be smaller. If I let mine get below a quarter of a tank, I'm looking at very nearly a C-Note even after its come down.
I see your point, though. I'm going to go looking on Amazon.
MCDavis: You said, ".......Look at it this way...its the cost of one tank of fuel........" I've run my first full tank from the dealership, down to half a tank. I'm wondering about the cost, considering I have a 36 gallon tank. I'm thinking I may never let the tank go down past "half" (lol).
parker245: You said: "Steering wheel cover ordered off Amazon.............Will install when it arrives." I looked at this item as well, and got a bit of "sticker shock" at first.
But depending on how it goes on, and what you think of the end result, it might be worth the money. Please let us know what you thought about the process of putting it on, and your "after the fact" thoughts about it, once installed (photo/video,text....whatever).
I agree with you.....here are two great options, abeit pricey, well worth the money when you look at the finished product.
1) carid.com (they have couple options, including sending in your steering wheel to be covered)
2) craftcustoms.com (send in your steering wheel to be recovered, 7-9 days)
Its just disheartening the original steering wheel didn't last longer than 2 years.
Seems like every ford i have ever owned had this same problem. It annoys the crap out of me! I just got my new truck and i went down to the parts store today to get a cover specifically because this annoys me so much and my truck only has like 800 miles on it so far so i am making sure i dont have to deal with a crappy looking steering wheel yet again! I wish ford read these post sometimes so they could improve thier product.
this is the cheapest price i've found with the color combination i wanted.
I figured that my hands are usually dirty so i went with black on the top and bottom(my hand is usually at 1 o'clock), and charcoal on the sides.
I had wheelskins send me some leather color swatches, black, charcoal, and grey. The charcoal swatch is almost a perfect match to the steering wheel's color. Should be here before christmas!
