Angry Stupid steering wheel

I noticed the top of my steering wheel has worn down and now is smooth, the grip is all worn off and the dam truck only has 23,000 on it. It's definitely a warranty issue but just wonderin if this wahppend to anyone else or maybe i need a winshield visor to keep the sun off the wheel. Any way just wonderin thanks.

My '02 has done the same thing. Started to hold the bottom instead of the top of the wheel, it is now smooth also.

My leather steering wheel looked like crap, installed good cover. Had to cut leather off so it would fit.

My buddy did that on his 02 F250 and a cop told him to take it off, its illegal, when he got pulled over once

Also, it sometimes helps to heat up the steering wheel covers to make them more flexible and easier to put on. Two people also helps a bit.

Yes, I believe they are illegal in IL, not sure about all states though.

Yeah they can get caught on your sleeve and cause an accident.

well that and it seems logical that in an accident they could seriously hurt or injure you if you bounce your head off of it

anything would hurt to bounce your head off of in an accident. isnt that the general theory behind the airbag things that tend to make itty bitty wrecks so expensive? one little tap, POW.
