Just found this link today, I don't support everything they are suggesting but not a bad write up on 7.3 ideas taking into account certain budgets. Wish I would have found this one before I was done with most of my mods.

Also I don't need a transmission yet but starting to look into getting one for a 2000 Excursion 4x4. Any recomendations? I will be towing a little but will most be used as a kid and toy hauler. Already chipped, gauges, intake, and exhaust already done. Not looking into replacing injectors...yet. So I want improvements over the stock (won't take much). How much have you guys been paying and where have you been ordering them through?

 

Well your pretty much at a stopping point if you do not want to upgrade injectors. I would ad a 6.0 trans cooler and a BTS valve body. Will help the stock trans live longer. Maybe look at an HPOP if yours is up in miles. May help the truck run out better if yours is warn.

 

Transmission. It's the weak link. I'm getting ready to put a Derale thermostat on mine to get my temps stable for better tuning control (in addition to the upgrades recommended by bad12jr).
