Looking for a set of 3:08 gears for a F350.
Any recommendations on manufacturer or any to stay away from?
Looking at Driveline or Superior Axle.
Thanks Steve
stay away from the cheapest on the list. usually a sign of quality. i would go with a midrange price depending on what you use the truck for and how many miles you put on it
D70-Not going to happen, not enough pinion offset for a gear that numerically low in this axle.
D60-There is a version of this axle used on some 83/4 diesel 250's that ran a 3.07:1 for fuel economy, referred to as a Dana 61. Specs identical to a D60 other than greater pinion offset for the taller gear.
Sterling (10.25/10.5)-Quite a few Super Duty guys with PSD's run 3.08's aftermarket, just look you'll find them.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the replies, Should have stated it is a Sterling 10.25 and there are listings for the 3:08, just not sure of any dodgy suppliers. Both the above firms list these ratios, leaning towards Driveline. Have not seen if Yukon do them.
Will be used for towing and highway work, Cummins 5.9 in front so need the gearing for cruising.
Cheers Steve

I have Richmond gears in my truck. I had the gears in my truck swapped to 4.56 by a well respected "performance" builder in my area and Richmond was what he recommended/used.They have taken a beating over the past ten years or so with no issues. My truck is about 600HP on the spray. WELCOME TO RICHMOND GEAR
