What's this?

What is this?--it was connected to the smog/air pump before I removed it. Can I remove this as well? Should I cap the port that led to the air pump? I looked for diagrams online. Could this be a by-pass valve (something similar in a diagram)? I want to fire up the truck tomorrow after doing some work for a week, but I want to have all the loose ends tied up before I do so. Thanks for any help.

I posted the image in my gallery/pictures (figuring out the gallery posting was driving me crazy). It's called "The Other Woman".

That's the "air by-pass valve". It's part of your thermactor (air pump) emission controls.
If you've removed the pump, you can remove this also, cap any open lines though.
